The First Step : How Prayer Bridges the Gap to Understanding

Many of us go through life in a “darkness,” not of crime or addiction, but of simple disconnection. We feel “disoriented,” as if we are driving through life and missing our exits because our minds are somewhere else. To find our way back, we must build a bridge. That bridge is prayer.

1. Prayer as the Primary Gateway

Prayer is more than just a ritual; it is the “first step to receive… understanding”. In his own journey, Cepeda notes that his path toward faith began by reading the Bible and realizing that knowledge and understanding were the most important factors for leading others. He didn’t just pray for things; he prayed for the understanding to lead a life aligned with a higher purpose.

2. The Delay in the Answer

One of the most common reasons people stop praying is that they don’t see immediate results. However, a key lesson from My Connection Divine is that while “you would not see the result of your prayers the next day,” work is being done behind the scenes.

  • Trust the Process: Just as Cepeda sought understanding for 20 years before it finally clicked, your prayers are building a foundation for a future you cannot yet see.
  • Divine Timing: A higher power knows us and “uses us as he need us,” often providing the knowledge we need long before we are ready to “awake”.

3. Discerning Between Light and Darkness

Life is filled with competing influences—some that lead us toward growth and others, driven by “Greed” or “Envy,” that lead us toward a “mechanical dream”. Prayer serves as a filter. It helps you “understand what is coming from… God and what is coming from the darkness”. By regularly connecting through prayer, you sharpen your ability to recognize the “perfection” and “blessings” in your everyday life.

4. A Simple Call to Connection

You don’t need to be a “Saint or a Genius” to influence the world or find your connection. The bridge is available to everyone. The goal of prayer is not to change the world around you overnight, but to change you so that you can “see his presence around you”.

Take the first step today: Don’t pray for a change in your circumstances; pray for the understanding to see the divine presence that is already there.

“Pray, for My God give you the understanding, the connection… for you to see his presence around you.” — Joey Cepeda
